Timeline Date 1946


Chicago Undergraduate Division instruction began at Navy Pier.

Oct 21.  In response to the student demand created by the G.I. Bill, the University created a branch campus at Chicago’s Navy (Municipal) Pier.  Nicknamed “Harvard on the rocks,” the students who attended CUD were the first University of Illinois undergraduates attending the university in Chicago.
